COPE is small and agile
Our size allows us to be flexible, responsive, and person-centered.
If you bring us a concern, we take action immediately.
If you have an issue, you can pick up the phone and reach your local VP or President.
Don’t believe us?
Give us a call with whatever issue you’re dealing with:

COPE works alongside you
We are a union of members representing members.
We are not hired staff, our union representatives are frontline Ontario Health at Home staff.
Being solely at the shop level, we are proactive, quick to respond, and tenacious.
A vote for COPE makes your voice stronger
With roughly 8000 members provincially, COPE is much smaller than OPSEU, ONA and CUPE. With fewer members, your voice carries more weight proportionally.
Choosing COPE harnesses the power of your vote and gives you a louder voice.
COPE’s dues keep money in your pocket
At 1.5% of your pay, our dues are among the lowest of all unions.
Our dues are scaled to your earnings, and not a flat fee.
Is it fair to pay the same dues as someone who makes more than you?
COPE recognizes you
As an all-inclusive bargaining unit, we represent and value all our job classifications equally.
All our negotiated wins are for every job classification in our organization.
No matter what role you play in patient care, we hold your membership and involvement in high esteem and don’t prioritize one profession over another.
COPE fights for your rights
If you have an issue in the workplace, we take action to get results.
Our grievance and arbitration processes gain wins for our membership.
Your fight is our fight.
COPE offers the best sick leave in the province
Our sick leave benefits are the best in the province, offering up to 100% of your full basic pay for up to 24 weeks. Unlike other Unions, after 24 weeks, COPE members transfer immediately to Long Term Disability.
COPE has equality of benefits
Our benefit package is distributed equally among all job classifications. You will never be in a situation where, for example, a Team Assistant gets less vacation entitlement than a Care Coordinator.
